Monastery News

Recently we shared news concerning the two serious landslides which occurred on the monastery grounds during Holy Week, and requested financial assistance to fund the necessary repairs.

This summer we are undertaking the construction of a much-needed work building. Most importantly, this building will include a candle workshop to replace the one destroyed in the convent fire of the summer of 2013. Additionally, it will house a commercial bakery, a centralized tool room, and a meeting room for the large monastic brotherhood. We are also bringing natural gas and water utility lines up our main entrance road.

Update 1/16/16 – With God’s help and by your prayers and support, the bridge has been repaired and reopened!

As a result, the culvert pipe below the bridge which connects Miller’s Fork Road to the monastery gates is on the brink of collapse.
