Visiting the Monastery
We are happy to share our monastic life with you. You may come for a day visit or book an overnight stay at our Guest House. You must first request to visit using the form below. Once we have confirmed your visit, please read our Visitor’s Guide as you prepare to make your pilgrimage. We look forward to seeing you. Safe travels!
Request a Visit
We receive many requests for visits, which are often booked months in advance. After you submit your request we will contact you to let you know if we can host you on your preferred dates.
Three-day Visit
You may request a 3-day visit: Tuesday-Thursday or Friday-Sunday. Please plan to arrive in the afternoon.
Clergy
If you are a clergyman and need to request a visit that doesn’t exactly fit our standard timeframes, or you need to help arrange a visit for someone for pastoral reasons, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you and serve you while you are with us. Please see our complete Visitor’s Guide to find other important information to know before you visit.
Monastic Candidate
If you are interested in becoming a monk, please reach out to our vocations director to receive proper guidance before you schedule a visit: vocations@holycross.org. We look forward to meeting you.
Day Visitors
If you would like to make a day-visit or would like to stay off-campus and visit us for the allowed three days, please use the form below. Contact us 24 hours in advance, and make sure you understand the appropriate dress code & visiting hours. See the Quick Visitor’s Guide below.

The entire monastery is a holy place consecrated to God. The saints and angels are mystically present here, and we dwell among them. In all places on the monastery grounds please conduct yourself in a manner befitting the spirit of devotion to our Savior Jesus Christ. If you visit us in this frame of mind you will easily adapt to the customs of our monastic life. Before you visit you should read our complete Visitor’s Guide. But here are a few basic guidelines to help you have a peaceful and grace-filled visit.

- Long-sleeve blouse that closes to the neck

- No makeup or perfume

- The best time to arrive at the monastery is in the afternoon between 2:00 – 4:00 pm, so we have time to greet you before the evening services at 5:00 pm. The monastery gates close at 9:00 pm. No late arrivals.
- If you will be staying at the monastery, please bring work clothes so that you can engage in outdoor activities or help us with our work.
