After much prayerful consideration, our abbot Fr. Seraphim has decided to make a change in our church live-streaming schedule. Going forward, our daily services will continue to be broadcast, but the Vigils and Divine Liturgies for Sundays and the Twelve Great Feasts will no longer be streamed.

In thanksgiving for the mercy of God and the overwhelming outpouring of prayer and financial support we received from so many of the faithful after the devastating ice storms in February, we will serve a special moleben of thansgiving and prayer for the sake of all those who came to our aid on Tuesday, March 23rd at noon Eastern (in place of Sixth Hour). As our internet connection issues appear to finally be resolved, we will plan to livestream this moleben for all who wish to join us in thanking God and asking Him to richly reward those who sacrificed their time and their material support for us unworthy sinners. Once again, thank you all so much for your love and your help!

With the absence of the typical flow of pilgrims through the monastery, it is in many respects a quieter place than usual. But that doesn’t mean we’ve found ourselves with any fewer tasks to fulfill in our daily obediences.

Starting in mid-March, on the advice of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, the monastery stopped receiving all outside visitors in response to the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19. During the three months that have ensued, the stay-at-home orders issued by various state and local governments have affected the daily lives of almost everyone in the country.

In order to console and nourish the faithful who are quarantined, Archimandrite Seraphim has blessed for the monastery church services to be livestreamed for the duration of this crisis. While viewing the services over the internet is certainly less than ideal, nevertheless it is the only way that many of the faithful now have to participate in divine worship. We wish to make our life of prayer for the world, which will continue unabated, available to those confined to their homes or who are otherwise unable to worship in their parish temple during this trying time.
