As Byzantium bridged the East and West, so this fragrance brings together our floral and spicy fragrances, capturing the best of both worlds — a sweet and warm garden fragrance with subtle hints of geranium, lily and wild berry, rounded out by neroli, cinnamon, clove, warm vanilla and galbanum.
Byzantium upon first opening is soapy, not how you would expect opening a container of incense to be like. This clean scent carries through even when burning. As it warms I first notice the floral and warm spice notes. It's a full bodied incense that fills even the smallest space rapidly with a sweetness I wish I could describe to you. It's comforting, warming, and beautiful. This fragrance really does bring together the best of both floral and spicy (think spiced, not spicy hot). My favorite of the Basilica Sampler. In the attached image I'm only burning three pieces of incense; you really don't need much to fill a space beauituflly.

This incense is incredible. Best part, according to my priest, is this incense “sticks” he loves that after a divine service his cassock smells of the incense all day.
Smells amazing, reminds me of Church.
