A handmade (embroidered with beads) reproduction of the famous Orthodox icon of the Mother of God of Kazan. The icon's name derives from the city of Kazan in Russia, where it was miraculously discovered in the early 16th century. The image became a symbol of protection and divine intercession, particularly during times of national crisis. The Kazan icon is known for its deep spiritual significance and widespread veneration across the Orthodox world, especially in Russia, where it is considered a national treasure and a symbol of hope and resilience. The beautiful pair of Kazan Mother of God and Christ the Savior icons is customarily used in weddings, when the bride and groom each hold one of the icons during a marriage ceremony in the Orthodox Church. And they keep them as a blessing their entire married life.

This work required approximately 80 hours of embroidery handwork using these materials: genuine pearls, crystal pearls, crystal beads, jewelry beads, vintage stars, gold French wire on satin cloth.

Total size: 8.75" x 9.5" each (sold only as a pair)
