This is my first time experiencing the Ethiopian Frankincense, Boswellia papyrifera. It has an uplifting citrus/evergreen aroma which is different than the Somalian Boswellia carterii. You might need an acquired nose to fully appreciate it, however I do not consider it to be a bad scent at all. This particular resin is perfect for medicinal use because it is one of a few Frankincense resins which are loaded with highly beneficial medicinal compounds. If you only care about the aroma, the Somalian Frankincense "Boswellia carterii" would be the better choice. Or better yet, consider the different Athonite-style Frankincense blends that Holy Cross Monastery offers. They all smell AMAZING!
It is the perfect size and the fragrance was perfect
Great product!
It's ok, just ok. I didn't expect it to be so different then the Somalian frankincense which I like quite a bit more. This one has a heavy almost chemical citrus scent, whereas the Somalian frankincense has more of a musky, spicy undertone which i think is much more pleasant. The Somalian has larger pieces and appears to be a little more refined.
I enjoy ordering incense from the Holy Cross Monastery. Excellent quality, great prices, fast delivery. With love in Christ! Father Nicolas Svetlovsky
